Immature Glaucous-winged Gull at Clover Point - August 11, 2003.  Likely a bird in its fourth calendar year.  It is undergoing its prebasic moult - note the ragged outer primary, yet to be replaced.  Individuals of this age look somewhat like an adults, but still have the following immature characteristics a) brownish coloration in tail and primaries,
b) dull bill color, c) heavily streaked head.
