Kelp Gull                                                                                         Larus dominicanus Lichtenstein

Adult Kelp Gull L. d. austrinus in alternate plumage. This subspecies of Antarctica and some of the
subantarctic islands tends to have a shorter, stouter bill than the nominate subspecies.
