Note the pattern of brown and black on
the back, the fairly short black tail, white rump, frilly appearance above
white flanks.

Black Turnstone. Note that the
legs can sometimes appear quite orange. That trait is supposedly
more indicative of a Ruddy Turnstone. However, a Ruddy would appear
somewhat paler and more harlequin-patterned, even in winter. |
