There are seven species in this photo.  Novices should be able to see adequate field marks to identify at least five of these.
Intermediate birders should be able to fairly easily identify six, and take a good guess at the seventh (its field marks don't

Answers (not guaranteed correct)
#1 Common Goldeneye (adult male).  Yellow eye and large white circle on the face
#2 Lesser Scaup (adult male).  Note the head shape.
#3 Northern Pintail (immature male).  It is acquiring the chestnut head and white neck and chest.
#4 Northern Pintail (female).  Long neck, fairly evenly colored neck and head, a bit on the gray side of brown.
#5 Mallard (female).  Chunky build, pale tail.
#6 American Wigeon (male).  "Baldpate", white wing patch.
#7 & #10 Mallard (female).  Typical plumage.
#8 & #9 Mallard (male).  Typical plumage.
#11 & #12 Northern Pintail (adult male).  Typical plumage.
#13 Glaucous-winged Gull (adult).  The field marks don't show, so it's a guess based on range.
#14 Northern Pintail (female).  Fine scalloped plumage, on the gray side of brown.
#15 Northern Pintail (male).  Note the pointed tail and pattern of rear (compare with bird #11).
#16 Brewer's Blackbird (female).  Longish tail, brownish almost coppery plumage, with darker wings and back.
#17 Brewer's Blackbird (probably male).  Field marks don't show well, but appears darker than #16.
