Costa's Hummingbird Distribution:
A resident of arid areas, the Costa's Hummingbird is most abundant in the deserts of California and Nevada south to northwestern Mexico.  In winter some birds drift southward.  Rare vagrant east of its normal range, and occasionally north to Alaska.
