20-Sep-2004 BC Mount Brandes (Holberg/Winter Harbour) 1 Guy Monty "... soaring with a Red-tailed Hawk. Strangely, these birds were moving even further NW! When we lost sight of them, out towards the San Joseph Bay area, there wasn't much island left for them to be flying over. This is the first Turkey Vulture we have recorded in a years work in the area....  
05-Sep-2004 BC 20 Kms south of Cranbrook 20+ John Kirinic Seen along highway 3. Counted at least 5 on the grassy shoulder of the highway and saw significantly more in the trees. 1909

Late Jul 2002 BC Lantzville 75 Howie Edwards Unusually high summer number.  
09-Feb-2002 BC Esquimalt Lagoon 8 David Lyles High count for the winter.  
15-Dec-2001 BC Kelowna 1 Wilf Akerlund Flying overhead at Casorso Road and Swamp Road.

26-Sep-1998 BC Rocky Point, Metchosin 650 David Allinson et al. High count for 1998.  Apparently migrated across Juan de Fuca Strait.  Diann MacRae tallied over 1100 vultures that day at Salt Creek, Clallam County WA.
